Academic Year Tutor Positions Available
 
DESCRIPTION
  • The position involves attending and facilitating two, one and a half hour tutoring sessions each week. Tutoring will take place at Tigard High School on Monday & Wednesday and Tualatin High School on Tuesday & Thursday. Tutoring will be provided in the following subjects: English, U.S. History, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus/Calculus, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and foreign languages.
 
  • The length of duration for these positions will be September 2019 through May 2020. Applicants must be available for one of the following schedules:
    Monday & Wednesday 3:00pm-4:30pm at Tigard High School
    and/or
    Tuesday & Thursday 3:00-4:30pm at Tualatin High School
  • Applicants must be able to provide their own transportation to and from high school.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Applicants must have solid tutoring/academic skills and must demonstrate character traits that are suitable for working with high school students (i.e. good role-modeling, patience, positive attitude, etc.).
  • Priority consideration will be given to applicants who have prior Upward Bound experience. 

SALARY
  • $13.98/hour for up to six hours of tutoring per week.
